I owe everyone an apology for being Pollyanna last week, urging all gardeners to feel OK about the opportunity a punishing storm offered. I’ve acquiesced and now am in the full embrace of weather anxiety. But it’s not the hail storm that turned a breezy ride home into a white-knuckle drive and stripped the tender leaves from my trees.
