Hawaii has a bad track record when its high cost of living is compared to other states, and now Honolulu and Maui have been ranked among the 10 worst places for families earning a six-figure income in a study by MagnifyMoney. Honolulu was ranked eighth-worst, with Boston in ninth place, while Maui — Kahului, Wailuku, and Lahaina were all listed together for Maui's entry — was ranked seventh-worst.
