Pollution cuts solar energy production by up to 35%

We may be sabotaging our efforts to generate clean energy. New research from a team led by Duke University found polluted air may be reducing our solar energy output – by 25 percent. And areas with some of the highest investment in solar power are those impacted the most: China, the Arabian Peninsula, and India. Dust and airborne particles may be harming our ability to generate as much solar energy as we can.
