With uptick in Colorado Springs-area robberies, trauma lingers for some

It's not easy to get over a worst nightmare coming true. Having a machete held to his throat during a pizza shop robbery five years ago continues to haunt Anthony Wenger's dreams. "I still think about it constantly," he said. "Every time I talk about it, it gives me chills." The Pikes Peak region is seeing an uptick in robberies, and those impacted by the crime say the emotional toll far outweighs any monetary or property loss. "It does a lot to the employees' mental stability," said Brett Raitz, president and chief executive officer of Pikes Peak Credit Union, which has two locations in the region.
