By Randy Ellis Staff Writer rellis@oklahoman.comCLINTON — The office manager of an Oklahoma circuit engineering district has been fired and an investigation is underway into the alleged self-reported embezzlement of government funds. "Right now we have an investigation underway and then we will be taking that information to the district attorney," said Monte Goucher, executive director of Circuit Engineering District #7, which serves 11 southwestern Oklahoma counties. Debbie Walpole, of Clinton, was the employee who was terminated, according to a July 26 termination letter obtained by The Oklahoman through an Open Records Act request. "We have gathered a considerable file of evidence that proves that you willfully abused your position," Goucher told Walpole in the termination letter. "On July 13th, 2017, you approached me and confessed embezzlement of CED 7 funds," Goucher wrote.Read more on NewsOK.com
