Disaster declaration approved after late July floods

By Staff reports The federal government has approved West Virginia's request for a major disaster declaration following a late July flood in Northern West Virginia. The approval means that federal disaster assistance will be available to the state to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides from July 28 to July 29, according to a release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
