Braves hold on late, beat K-Mets 5-3

DANVILLE, Va. — Danville built a 5-1 lead then fought back a late rally by Kingsport to earn a 5-3 Appalachian League victory on Saturday. The K-Mets opened the scoring after Gavin Garay led off the third inning with a double. He advanced to third on a single by Grabiel Jimenez and scored on a groundout by Oliver Pascual. The Braves (28-28) evened the score with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, and they took the lead for good with two more runs in the fifth.
