A Lancaster woman was fatally struck by a car while crossing Memorial Park Road to get to her mailbox Thursday afternoon. Johnnie Mae Hinson, 79, was airlifted directly to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where she later died from her injuries, according to Lancaster County Coroner Karla Deese. Ke’von Drakeford, 17, of Heath Springs hit Hinson about 3 p.m.
