Walk the ninth-floor hallway of the historic Flood Building on Market Street and you may detect an office sound that has all but vanished, even from the Flood, which has not changed much since 1904. It is the frantic staccato of twin IBM Selectric II typewriters, their typeballs pressing letters into a page at 60 words per minute.
