Howard Hughes sets date for Ward Warehouse buildings to come down

The Howard Hughes Corp. has started demolition work at the shuttered Ward Warehouse shopping complex in Honolulu and plans to tear the buildings down by the end of the year, but has yet to schedule construction of the Gateway Towers project that will replace it. Re-use Hawaii is collecting salvagable materials to recycle and “remediation work” is being done to the 42-year-old complex, a spokeswoman for The Howard Hughes Corp.
