The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning has approved 34 new projects to improve local municipalities – and a few of them are coming to McHenry County. Supported by CMAP’s Local Technical Assistance program, CMAP’s projects aim to help local governments, nonprofits and intergovernmental collaborators address problems at the intersections of transportation, land use and quality of life, according to a news release from the agency. In Algonquin and McHenry, CMAP will help develop a regional bicycle and pedestrian program to be named the regional mobility program for both recreational and commuter bicyclists.
