When 19-year-old Kirsten Haglund of Farmington Hills became Miss America in 2008, she courageously shared her personal battle with anorexia.In the years since, she has devoted her life to helping others fight the disease. On Thursday, Nov. 30, Beaumont Children's Hough Center for Adolescent Health in Troy and the Kirsten Haglund Foundation will host a free educational event featuring Haglund, "Shedding the Light on Eating Disorders.
