Fans have rallied against EA for the use of microtransactions and recent changes to FIFA's mechanics. A Reddit post and consumer campaign known as #FixFifa have been gaining traction around the internet. The movement also has a Change.org petition which has gained nearly 25,000 signatures at the time of writing. The goal of the campaign is to fix a variety of issues that concerned players are reporting, including extending FIFA 18's Weekend League period and addressing the game's microtransactions. This isn't the first FIFA to use in-game currency for the popular Ultimate Team system, or to have microtransactions, but players are finding the drop rates unreliable and believe that spending real money is more of a necessity to be competitive.
