Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm‘s Star Wars: The Last Jedi jumped to an estimated $104.8 million domestically its first day on Friday from 4,232 theaters! It is only the second movie to surpass the $100 million mark in a single day, and it trails just Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which debuted with $119 million on its way to a launch of $247.9 million in December of 2015. The Last Jedi is expected to easily clear the $200 million mark its first weekend. Like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One, Star Wars: The Last Jedi received an A CinemaScore from audiences, which should mean a healthy road ahead for the film’s box office.
