A storm system is moving into the Bay Area Thursday, which should bring rain by mid-morning. “It probably will be the heaviest by early to mid-afternoon over San Francisco,” said Drew Peterson of the National Weather Service. “It won’t be the wettest storm.” Still, he estimated, San Francisco could see about a quarter-inch of rain. A high surf warning is also in effect until 4 pm Friday. Peterson said that there could be lingering showers tomorrow, but the weekend will be mostly dry — until a wetter storm moves in Sunday.
