Independence to remove cost sharing for opioid addiction treatment Narcan

In its latest move to address the ongoing opioid addiction epidemic, Independence Blue Cross said Tuesday it is removing member cost sharing — effective March 1 — for injectable and nasal spray formulations of naloxone. Naloxone blocks the effects of opioids and reverses an overdose when administered in time.
