From Staff ReportsThree longtime staffers for The Oklahoman will be inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame this spring. Jon Denton, a retired editor, reporter and columnist; Douglas Hoke, director of photography; and Berry Tramel, sports columnist, will be among the nine outstanding journalists and a journalism college dean emeritus who will be honored May 3 at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. The other inductees who will be honored at the hall of fame's 48th anniversary ceremony include Mary Hargrove, an accomplished investigative reporter; Barbara Hoberock, state Capitol bureau chief for the Tulsa World; Chris Lee, photojournalist for KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City; Ray Lokey, the late publisher of the Johnston County Capital-Democrat; Kim Poindexter, executive editor of the Tahlequah Daily Press; and George Tomek, a retired reporter and anchor. A fourth-generation member of a printing, publishing and newspaper family, Denton joined The Daily Oklahoman and Oklahoma City Times in 1967.Read more on NewsOK.com
