USC president C.L. Max Nikias agrees to step down over university gynecologist sexual misconduct scandal

Max Nikias, the president of the University of Southern California, agreed to step down amid a sex scandal involving Dr. George Tyndall, a university gynecologist accused of conducting inappropriate exams. It is unclear when Nikias would leave his post. Hundreds of students, professors, and alumni demanded Nikias' ouster, alleging that USC failed to respond to complaints of misconduct involving Tyndall. Tyndall made crude comments, took inappropriate photographs, forced plaintiffs to strip naked and groped them under the guise of medical treatment for his "sexual gratification," according to civil lawsuits filed this week.
