There is virtually no evidence to support the assumption that increases in immigration lead to more crime

More than 2,000 children have been separated from their parents at the US-Mexico border, due to the Department of Homeland Security's "zero-tolerance" immigration policy enacted earlier this year. The Trump administration argues that allowing immigrants to enter the US would cause more crime. Multi-decade research shows no evidence to support this claim. In his first week in office, President Donald Trump showed he intends to follow through on his immigration promises.
