Village President Paul Serwatka was a no-show at Tuesday evening's Village Board meeting. "It was a surprise," said trustee Jason McMahon. "Crazily enough, it was after he chastised us in the last article you wrote." Earlier this month, Serwatka called out trustees who were not in town for the regularly scheduled meeting. The July 10 meeting was cancelled for lack of quorum. Serwatka has faced intense criticism from village trustees and locals for making plans to move without stepping down. He’s cited high property taxes on his home in the Turnberry subdivision as his reason for moving to Alabama.
