Village President Paul Serwatka was a no-show at Tuesday evening’s Village Board meeting. “It was a surprise,” said Trustee Jason McMahon. “Crazily enough, it was after he chastised us in the last article [the Northwest Herald] wrote.” Earlier this month, Serwatka called out trustees who were not in town for the regularly scheduled meeting. The July 10 meeting was canceled for lack of quorum. Serwatka has faced intense criticism from village trustees and residents for making plans to move without stepping down. He’s cited high property taxes on his home in the Turnberry subdivision as his reason for moving to Alabama.
