By Brandy McDonnellAn abbreviated version of this story appears in Friday's Weekend Life section of The Oklahoman.Hometown memoriesVince Gill is returning to OKC to perform at the Civic Center Music Hall, where he has some interesting musical recollections Vince Gill is planning an exorcism.Or, at least the chance at a little musical vindication.The Country Music Hall of Famer, who was born in Norman and bred in Oklahoma City, will put on a hometown show Saturday at the Civic Center Music Hall, where early in his career, he and a group of fellow bluegrass musicians had an, um, unforgettable experience opening for a rowdy band of rock ‘n’ roll legends.“I said, ‘I really would love to play the Civic Center if I could,' and they said, ‘Well why?’ And I said, ‘Well, I really need to exorcise the demon of opening for KISS in that building,’” Gill recalled with a laugh.
