Sydney FC looking forward to 'special' SCG showdown with Western Sydney Wanderers

Tony Popovic started off his tenure as Perth boss with a well contested 1 - 1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers at the nib Stadium. Adelaide United held the reigning premiers to a 1-1 draw at Cooper Stadium. Marquee signing Adam Le Fondre scoring his first goal under the Sydney FC club. Sydney FC stalwart Alex Wilkinson has given the SCG surface a big tick of approval and declared the Sky Blues have a mental edge going into Saturday's derby with Western Sydney Wanderers. Central defender Wilkinson expects a special atmosphere for the first A-League match at the famous ground. The SCG hasn't been used for a football game for three decades and will host four Sydney FC matches this season, with their traditional home venue next door at Allianz Stadium being rebuilt. On Monday morning, On3Sports reported that CU defensive lineman Chazz Wallace plans to enter the transfer portal, the first CU player to leave for the portal this spring. It didn’t take long for him to have company. Also on Monday, On3Sports reported that safety Jaden Milliner-Jones and offensive linemen Isaiah Jatta and Savion Washington also plan to enter the transfer portal.
