There is a lot to dislike about Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, who has consistently held a high disapproval rating in his home state. However, most people would agree with two things McConnell has said. One of them was his speech just after Donald Trump whipped his lint-licking base of supporters into a frenzy to attack the Capitol.

Minnesota state senator Nicole Mitchell was charged with first-degree burglary Tuesday morning, one day after being arrested at a home in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Justice Department announced a $138.7 million settlement Tuesday with more than 100 people who accused the FBI of grossly mishandling allegations of sexual assault against Larry Nassar in 2015 and 2016, a critical time gap that allowed the sports doctor to continue to prey on victims before his arrest. Nassar worked at Michigan State University and also served as a team doctor at Indianapolis-based USA Gymnastics.
