When you mention to Eric Lindell that a couple of the songs on his latest album seem to be the epitome of New Orleans music, that is to say, a delectable gumbo of various styles, he protests. “I was doing what I’m doing long before I moved to Louisiana,” said Lindell from a Baltimore tour stop, noting that he grew up in California, and was always kind of a musical mix-master, before moving to Louisiana in 1999.
