Comment on Fire damages Riley’s, Broken Spoke

A fire damaged Riley’s Cafe and the Broken Spoke restaurants, both at 2010 Sylvia Ave. NE, on Thursday.Richard Pankey, whose son Phil Pankey owns both restaurants, said no one was injured, but both restaurants have temporarily closed.He said they hope Broken Spoke will be able to reopen within a few days, but Riley’s could be closed for weeks or months.Richard Pankey said he was told the fire started near a cooking area, within the wall, just before noon.
