PROVIDENCE — The American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island has filed a friend of the court brief on behalf of a man who claims he will be tortured if he is returned to the Dominican Republic on charges of killing a police officer in his home country.Cristian Aguasvivas is currently being held at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls while he awaits his petition for asylum.
