A Wonder Lake man charged in a 2017 home invasion and murder was sentenced to 86 years in prison for what a judge called a "vicious, heinous and totally senseless" crime. Nearly two years ago, 37-year-old Bryon Howard was one of two people to push their way into a McHenry-area home just before two gunshots rang out, killing homeowner Donald Jouravleff, prosecutors said. Howard has denied having any involvement with the May 27, 2017 home invasion and previously turned down a plea deal promising 23 years in prison, compared to the 86-year-sentence he received Friday.
