Denver’s Hale neighborhood is about to see a number of local restaurants open, first among them a James Beard Award-winner’s rotisserie chicken shop. Alex Seidel’s Chook should start serving at 4340 E. 8th Ave. by October or November, said Seidel, who also owns Denver restaurants Mercantile and Fruition. The first Chook location opened on South Pearl Street last December, and the response to it has “just been overwhelmingly positive,” Seidel said. Chook is a fast-casual but high-quality alternative to Seidel’s two more upscale and award-winning Denver restaurants. This one sells grilled quarter, half and whole birds with sides like charcoal broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy and Pacific dinner rolls.
