Comment on Crystal Lake man arrested after stabbing incident

A Crystal Lake man was jailed after he stabbed another man in the chest Tuesday morning, police said. Officers responded to the 500 block of Devonshire Lane for a report of a man, 23-year old David Lepey, “acting abnormal and armed with a knife” about 7:30 a.m., police said. Once officers arrived, police said, they found a 30-year-old male victim with a single stab wound to his chest. Crystal Lake firefighters reportedly provided emergency medical care to the victim and took him to an area hospital for further treatment. Hospital staff said the injury was superficial and not life-threatening. Lepey was taken into custody at the scene. The incident was the result of a domestic situation, police said, and there is no danger to the public. Lepey was booked into the McHenry County Jail pending a hearing on his bond.
