Golden’s food scene is blowing up. Here’s what you should be eating there right now.

Housemade pastas on the menus, multiple food halls, new Thai food, Japanese restaurants, barbecue and taco shops — these are some of the options to look forward to on your next culinary tour of Golden. Yes, the town known for Coors Brewery, the Colorado School of Mines, a mountain vibe and a history tied to the gold rush, where the sign above Washington Avenue still says “where the west lives” and “howdy folks!”, is now joining the ranks of Colorado’s food destinations. Just opened in the last six months is the city’s first food hall, Tributary; the Buffalo Rose’s completely renovated concert venue, bar and restaurant; Smiley’s smokehouse sandwich shop; and Bella Colibri, a romantic Italian dinner spot.
