This comes as no surprise because the contemporary Christian band is known for its honesty, resulting in music with unpretentious lyrics that reflect both the highs and lows of life. Mulligan said he thinks Jesus wouldn’t have it any other way. “I think there’s great freedom not having to spend your days pretending you’re somebody you’re not, and I think Jesus is particularly fond of that,” he said in a recent telephone interview. “I see in the Scriptures that Jesus hung out with the marginalized, the people who are the outcasts, the underdogs — that’s who we are and that’s who we’re for.” We Are Messengers will bring its special blend of faith-billed music and honest lyrics to Oklahoma City as part of Tobymac’s Hits Deep concert on Feb.Read more on NewsOK.com
