By William CrumStaff writerwcrum@oklahoman.comCity Manager Craig Freeman will propose Tuesday that the city council add $5 million to the small-business COVID-19 relief fund, nearly doubling available aid, and authorize grants for individuals struggling to pay rent and other bills. Freeman also will seek authority to direct $30 million toward a local coronavirus testing and tracing program. Freeman is proposing Oklahoma City's share initially be divided into three categories: • $25 million in "community support" for grants and loans to businesses and nonprofit organizations, including immediate release of $5 million to the Small Business Continuity Program, and help to individuals with rent and utility bills, food assistance, and job retraining and placement. The city has said more than 10,500 households have overdue utility bills.Read more on NewsOK.com
