Coyotes will compete in revised NHL playoff format; Valley passed over as game site

Thanks to a revised National Hockey League playoff format, the Arizona Coyotes will get a chance to compete for the Stanley Cup, but they won't play any playoff games in Glendale. The NHL on Tuesday unveiled its return-to-play plan to complete the 2019-20 season with a modified playoff system that will include 24 teams rather than the typical 16 teams that normally qualify.
