Centennial’s Lollipop Park auctioning Ferris wheel, miniature train as COVID-19 forces closure

COVID-19 and associated public health restrictions have overwhelmed another Denver-area business and now a 26-foot-tall, Italian-made Ferris wheel is headed to the auction block. Lollipop Park, a children’s amusement park inside South Suburban Parks and Recreation district’s Family Sports Center in Centennial is closing after nine years, its owners announced Monday. Lollipop, which focused on kids 10 and under, has been shut down since coronavirus started spreading in Colorado in March.
