Israel has carried out a military strike inside Iran, a US official told CNN. Israel has not commented and Iran has not identified the source of the attack. Videos show flashes in the sky near the location of the strike. CNN cannot independently confirm the authenticity of those videos.

House members are lobbying Speaker Mike Johnson to raise the threshold to trigger the procedure to oust the speaker. However, Johnson announced he would not change the procedure for removing him from the speakership after Republican hardliners reacted with fury to the proposed change of rules.
