The Jackson Laboratory, Hancock County’s largest employer, is working to set up a new child care program in Bar Harbor for up to 56 children as part of its efforts to make it easier and more affordable for employees to live and work on Mount Desert Island. Jackson Lab is working with the YMCAs in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth to offer the service at the MDI YMCA in Bar Harbor.
