President Donald Trump commuted the prison sentence of Broward County rapper Bill Kapri, better known as Kodak Black, in a last-minute flurry of clemency grants.

The list of South Dakotans who were pardoned by Trump includes Paul Erickson of Sioux Falls, who was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2020 for defrauding investors.        

One year ago today, I was in Costa Rica, the first stop on my 2020 personal bucket list tour. Then COVID hit, and all other plans were scuttled. I was going to spend the whole month of June in Alaska. All I have to show for it is a list of canceled reservations and lost deposits.
