Comment on Pat Shurmur pleased with progress of Broncos quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater, Drew Lock week into camp

Pat Shurmur pleased with progress of Broncos quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater, Drew Lock week into camp

Following the Broncos’ first full pads practice of training camp Tuesday morning, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said he has been pleased with the play of quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock. “I’ve seen both guys get better,” Shurmur said during his first media availability of camp. “Sadly, the unintended consequence of this (competition) is typically, you need two quarterbacks to play throughout the year so all the good work we’re getting will help them both as we play the season out.” Bridgewater took Tuesday’s initial first-team snap, but Lock also saw time with the first offensive line. Bridgewater bounced back from his two-interception practice Saturday to push the football down the field with effectiveness on Monday. “I think he’s done a good job,” Shurmur said.
