The Rockies were hoping to play David to the Giants’ Goliath. The Dodgers were hoping so, too. Nothing doing. Home-run happy San Francisco cranked out four more long balls Friday night at Coors Field en route to a 7-2 cruiser over Colorado. The Rockies, who were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Thursday, fell to 71-82, clinching their third consecutive losing season and the 20th losing season in their 29 years of existence. The storied Giants, now 100-54, reached the 100-win mark for the eighth time in their long history, but the first time since 2013. More vital, they kept their slim lead over the Dodgers in the National League West.
