23-story project in Denver’s Golden Triangle neighborhood will incorporate existing retail building

The development firm that recently purchased the Bonnie Brae Tavern and original Cherry Cricket properties is thinking big in the Golden Triangle. Denver-based Alpine Investments, in conjunction with New Jersey-based Ironstate Development, wants to build a 23-story, 285-unit apartment building at the northwest corner of 11th Avenue and Cherokee St. The 250-foot-tall structure would be one of a handful of projects, along with two being planned by Denver-based Urban Villages, to take advantage of the new maximum height included in new zoning for the neighborhood that city leaders approved last summer.
