Italian politics are bewildering at the best of times, but now we see Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni railing against critics on the left and the right as she vows to continue to aid Ukraine until they are finally liberated from the Russian invasion. She had harsh words for anyone calling for a "peace" that carves up sovereign Ukraine.

During Friday's Ways and Means Committee hearing on trade policy, Ambassador Katherine Tai castigated North Carolina Republican Greg Murphy, for his condescension toward her role regarding U. S. trade. Murphy began his questioning by claiming Tai was too nice a person to be involved in trade issues, claiming he felt sorry for her. "I personally think you're too nice a person to be in the job that you're in," he said.

After controversial Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others visited a Washington, D. C., jail where Jan. 6 defendants were held, she held a press conference. Of course, Greene called the defendants that stormed the U. S. Capitol "political prisoners," but she wanted a whistle-blowing protester at the press conference arrested. Whistle-blowing can be considered an act of protest against wrongful practices by government officials.

A federal judge has ordered several of Trump's ex-aides, including Mark Meadows, to testify before the grand jury that's investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 election, rejecting the former president’s claims of executive privilege, multiple sources confirmed. Via CNN: Trump’s legal team had challenged subpoenas issued by special counsel Jack Smith demanding testimony and documents from Meadows, the former president’s White House chief of staff, as well as several others by asserting executive privilege. In a sealed decision last week, then-Chief Judge Beryl Howell rejected the Trump team’s claims of privilege for Meadows and other top Trump administration officials who were subpoenaed by Smith, including former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, former national security adviser Robert O’Brien and former Department of Homeland Security official Ken Cuccinelli, sources told CNN. It seems like it's a daily thing now that pastors or professors at Christian schools are arrested for pedophilia. And please note that Abilene Christian University professor Charles Wadlington is not a drag queen. Via KTAB/KRBC: Charles Wadlington was arrested on a warrant for Sexual Abuse of Child and now remains held in jail on a $75,000 bond. UPDATE 3/23 – Wadlington was released on March 23 according to the Taylor County Jail records. Court documents state that in March 2023, a child came forward to police and said she and her sister were sexually assaulted by Wadlington, their adoptive father, and their brother may have been harmed as well. The brother was interviewed first.
