Grading the Dolphins’ thrilling 32-26 overtime victory vs. New York Jets

MIAMI GARDENS — There are a few ways to view the Dolphins’ 32-26 overtime victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. You could be impressed that the Dolphins (6-7), who have won four of their last five games, showed playmaking skills in all three phases — offense, defense and special teams — while pulling off a season-saving, come-from-behind victory. Or, you could be worried that the Dolphins’ victory took so much effort considering the Jets (3-10) are one of the worst teams in the league. Or, you could just accept the Dolphins’ victory, acknowledging it’s hard to win in this league. We’re rolling all of those viewpoints into one report card, and here are the grades. Pass game: A Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (33 of 47, 331 yards, two touchdowns, 104.1 passer rating) was able to go to wide receivers Tyreek Hill (10 receptions, 115 yards, one touchdown) and Jaylen Waddle (nine receptions, 99 yards) to move the ball without the big play.
