COVENTRY – Police and school administrators put the Western Coventry Elementary School on lockdown Friday morning after the school department mistakenly received an automatic message that a gunman was on campus. No gunman was at the school, Police Chief John MacDonald said. The incorrect warning was apparently the result of an automatic messaging system at a New York state college that dialed a wrong number.
