From James Taylor and Tracy Chapman to the Story (Jonatha Brooke and Jennifer Kimball’s duo) and Amy Correia, Massachusetts has produced an impressive assortment of folk-inspired musicians. The four multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriters of Darlingside met while in college in the Bay State. Playing mandolin, violin and cello in addition to guitars, bass and drums, they excel at vocal harmonies and layered acoustic atmospherics. The quartet has a great sense of fun with its music and lyrics.
