Next month marks the 10-year anniversary of the current bull market’s beginnings. Yet many Americans remain reluctant to invest in the stock market, a scary hangover from the Great Recession. From October 2007 to March 2009, the S&P 500 plummeted nearly 57% and it took more than five years for the index to recover.
