Dubious Achievers: Dirtiest, Lowest, Funniest Moments Of Election 2014

“Politics ain’t beanbag,” goes a famous axiom,  but in this era of secretive “SuperPACS,” concealed contributors, hit mailings and all-limits-are-off spending, politics has become beanball. With no real rules anymore — thanks to the infamous 2010 Citizens United ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court — fouls get committed.  More money means more dumb plays.  Although Washington is a sideshow this year,  we have some examples locally: –Anti-Catholic mockery:  The dirtiest attack of the campaign, hands down, was a cartoon depicting 35th District Republican Senate candidate Mark Miloscia in a bishop’s mitre with a rosary sticking out of his pocket.   An anonymous local Democrat erected a web site saying Miloscia works [...]
