Duke Energy Renewables has signed a long-term contract to provide remote monitoring, control and dispatch services to the nation’s first offshore wind farm from its Charlotte Renewables Control Center. Duke (NYSE:DUK) announced the deal with the 30-megawatt Block Island Wind Farm, which is completing its final testing phase. The $290 million farm is expected to begin producing power for the grid next month. The services contract is for five years.
