Enid Pastor's Path From Behind Bars To Ministry

Rose spent much of his younger life in juvenile detention or in adult prisons, including a stint in the institution where the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" was filmed. A few months later he was arrested again for the same type of crime and was sent to Fairfield School For Boys, where he spent nine months, Perhaps Fairfield's most famous alumnus was comic legend Bob Hope. After getting out of Fairfield, Rose was arrested and sentenced to Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility near Cleveland, where he spent another nine months. After being released from TICO near the end of his 11th-grade year, Rose got into a fight with his shop teacher at school, who happened to be one of his parents' best friends. A year later another aggravated burglary charge followed. Rose drove his car to the police station to show them it wasn't damaged and walked in with a quarter pound of marijuana inside his jacket on one side, and 100 hits of hallucinogens on the other. The marijuana would have earned him just a ticket, but LSD possession was a felony. Rose then told the police he knew where the stolen merchandise was, so they took him to a wooded area. While one officer went to look, Rose, whose hands were handcuffed in front of him, took off running, the Enid News & Eagle (http://bit.ly/1br0adT ) reports. [...] he climbed out a hatch onto the roof of the three-story building and jumped off the roof onto a house next door, "Which was I guess about a story and a half below, with ice and snow and handcuffs on." Police surrounded the apartment building where Rose was staying and arrested him. Rose also spent time in the Cincinnati Workhouse, where a bucket served as his toilet and his bed was concrete covered in a thin mattress.
