The former executive director of a Hardin County non-profit could spend a year in federal prison for using the charity's money to pay his wife's credit card bill. Court records claim that in 2007, Thornton was a member of the board of directors for the Hardin County Disaster Recovery Alliance, a faith-based non-profit chartered by the state to provide assistance and education to victims of Hurricane Rita, emphasizing on the elderly, disabled and low-income.
